ACW IS NOT A shelter, rescue, sanctuary or rehab. We just do what we can to help THEM.

ADOPT
WALLY BONGO

Wally was a stray who showed up at our guest house on 8/21/23. We haven’t been able to find his humans, and all area shelters, rescues & sanctuaries are full. Sadly, we’re not able to keep him either. Please help us find him a furever home.

Spay ain’t the only way. Neuter, too!

Each year, Roane County’s animal shelter has to put down over 1,500 dogs and only 1% of the cats are adopted.  So, when we came across animals in need (wild or domestic), they were treated like a family until we could find their humans, a good rescue, a match for adoption, or a rehab or sanctuary. If that didn’t happen, the animal lived out its life with us. Sadly, we’re not able to take in any more. We’re full-up with 4 dogs, 5 cats, 4 goats, and a varying number of chickens at any given time.

Below is a gallery of all who have found their way here over the years (chickens not included). They were strays or given to us by people who could no longer care for them, except the Pyrenees, who were hired to protect everyone. And, the wild birds. They flew in the house and knocked themselves out. We just hung on to them until they came to. But we grabbed Vernon the vulture in the middle of the highway after he had been hit. He went to our wildlife rehab friends for a head injury and was released a week later.
